Richard Arthur Cloutier

FALMOUTH – Richard Arthur Cloutier, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 15, 2023 at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth. Richard was born April 26, 1942 in Augusta, the son of Joseph and Kathleen (Crocker) Cloutier.

Richard attended Portland schools and graduated from Deering High School near his family home on Edgeworth Avenue. After graduation Richard attended Maine Maritime Academy and went on to join the U.S Army where he served during the Vietnam War. Upon returning Richard explored several career paths including becoming a Private Investigator and Real Estate agent. In 1995 he began working at the United States Postal Service where he worked until retiring in 2016. Richard spent most of his life residing in Gorham before moving to Cumberland Foreside.

Richard had a passion for cooking on the grill and fancy cars. He took great pride in the many vehicles he owned always making sure they were spotless. He was a quiet man but will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, and his love for his family and animals.

Richard is survived by his sister, Kathleen Sue Fox and her husband Michael; his nephew Chad Fox and wife Kelly, nephew Todd Fox and his son Jaxson, niece Lindsay (Fox) Martorano and husband Daniel and their children, Joey, Ellie and Caitlin.

A private burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Falmouth, where Richard will be laid to rest alongside his Mother and Father.
