The Maine State Police Bomb Unit defused a homemade explosive device that authorities said was left in the driveway of a private residence in northern Maine.
No one was injured and there is no threat to the public, Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said Tuesday in a news release.
The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office responded Friday morning around 9:30 after the owner of a home on Tabor Road in Woodland reported that someone had left an explosive device in his driveway.
The bomb unit responded and rendered the device safe, Moss said. The state Fire Marshal’s Office is also investigating.
If anyone has any information about the incident they are asked to contact the Maine State Police in Houlton at 207-532-5400 and ask for investigator Brady Smith.
