BRUNSWICK — Caitlin Seitz pitched a perfect game with 10 strikeouts, and Gabby Swain singled home Sophia Morin in the fourth inning as the Brunswick softball team earned a 1-0 win over Lake Region on Saturday.
Seitz (5-0) has yet to allow an earned run this season. She was coming off a one-hitter Wednesday in a 2-0 victory over Messalonskee.
Lake Region pitcher Melissa Mayo allowed five hits. The Dragons (9-6) broke through against Mayo in the fourth when Morin doubled, took third on a sacrifice bunt by Ellie Sullivan and scored on Swain’s hit down the third-base line.
The Lakers are now 10-4.
BASEBALL
WELLS 7, FREEPORT 0: Spencer Carpenter had three hits, including a double and a home run, and pitched a five-hitter to lead the Warriors (11-4) past the Falcons (8-7) in Freeport.
Caleb Moody also recorded with three hits and drove in three runs. Carpenter finished with two RBI.
Freeport fell to 8-7.
