North Yarmouth residents have the opportunity to add a person of tremendous integrity, honesty and independence to the Select Board on June 13. Paul Whitmarsh.
As the chairperson of the Planning Board, he has shown time and again what it means to follow the rules, even when he disagrees with them. He does not shy away from asking tough questions and expecting reasonable answers when protecting our town’s natural resources. Some curiously label protecting resources as being anti-development. In philosophy, Whitmarsh is anything but.
He has the wealth of knowledge of the rules and process, the intellect and savvy to be effective on the Select Board, and the overwhelming desire to do right by all the people who call North Yarmouth home.
Help allow this to happen by electing Paul Whitmarsh to the North Yarmouth Select Board.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
