The Falmouth school system is a community cornerstone whose role and value enriches my hometown. Oversight of that system is rooted in taking a balanced approach which serves both the students and the broader needs of Falmouth. Having had the privilege of serving on the School Board, I know firsthand the requirements to effectively be a member of that board. It requires transparency, respecting constituents and employees, compassion for students and a dedication to preserve precedence and community balance.
I am writing to strongly encourage voters to return Analiese Larson to the board. Her experience, approach and understanding of this community are sorely needed. Her service would restore balance, respect and an adherence to long-standing precedent, which is dramatically needed. Additionally, I endorse Emily Martin whose engagement and thoughtfulness will also be a strong addition to the board.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
