
Plummer earns Chenette scholarship
Luke Plummer, a student at Bonny Eagle High School, received the $500 Chenette Leadership Scholarship this year.
Plummer has been active in Scouting and volunteering in the community since first grade. For his successful Eagle Scout project, he helped restore the old Eliza Libby School playground. He has been a member of the high school’s National Honor Society and student council and continues to serve on the Town Budget Committee.
He plans to attend the University of Southern Maine, majoring in economics. His family has run generations of businesses in the area, including Plummer’s Hardware and Plummer’s Shop’n Save.
The Chenette Scholarship Fund is a nonprofit foundation that provides college scholarships to students at area high schools to empower the next generation of civic-minded leaders. Since 2015, its has provided more than $10,000 worth of scholarships to students at Thornton Academy, Old Orchard Beach High School and Bonny Eagle.
