Sandra Lee (Denton) Gallagher

SCARBOROUGH – Sandra Lee (Denton) Gallagher, 87, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from multiple chronic health conditions. She spent her final days surrounded by family and love at Gosnell Memorial House in Scarborough.

Sandra was born on May 24, 1935, in Marion, Ohio. She graduated from Marion Harding High School in Spring 1953. In 1977, she joined her husband, Bernard Gallagher, at State Farm Insurance as his administrative assistant. The two worked closely together for 37 years and traveled the world together. Sandra and Bernard were dedicated animal lovers who spent their lives helping stray animals and opened their home to countless animals, who were deeply loved and cared for. Following Bernard’s passing, Sandra moved to Maine in 2015 to be closer to family.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Kimmerly Gallagher and her granddaughter and their husband, Shannon and Matthew Champagne.

Per Sandra’s wishes, funeral services will not be observed.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Sandra’s name to your local animal shelter.
