I am writing to share why I will be voting for Anneke Hohl for the Cumberland seat on the SAD 51 School Board. I have known her for six years in several different capacities, including volunteer work, athletic pursuits and friendship.
Hohl’s qualifications can be found online, so I want to highlight some personal reasons why I am excited she is running. She seeks out facts and perspectives, asking a lot of questions and really listening to others. I am consistently impressed with how deeply she thinks through problems and how graciously she hears other perspectives.
While I have spoken with her often and at length about equity and inclusion, it is clear to me she will also be an asset to our community in problem solving space issues and building community. She is committed to finding solutions and will devote her time and energy to supporting our schools.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
