New to vets committee
Mayor Michael Foley has named several people to the Veterans Services Advisory Committee: American Legion Post 62 Commander Dennis Marrotte; veterans Michael Sanphy and Michael Dubois; and residents Deborah Shangraw and Rebecca Boaz.
Arty Ledoux is the city’s Veterans Services Officer.
Foley said the committee provides “stability and continuity for future veteran recognition and advocacy.”
Parade plans
The city’s annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony is set for May 29.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and start at the intersection of Mechanic Street and William Clarke Drive with a ceremony following at Riverbank Park. Parade participants are asked to arrive at 9:30 a.m.
“We thank the Veterans Services Advisory Committee for their work in organizing this event and we look forward to seeing everyone there as we honor those we have lost in service to our country,” Mayor Mike Foley said.
