Biddeford working on Climate Action Plan
To the editor,

Here in Biddeford, we are already experiencing the impacts of climate change – from warmer winters, to more extreme rainfall events, to rising sea levels. Luckily, the city of Biddeford is now hard at work to create a Climate Action Plan that will focus on addressing both the causes and consequences of climate change.
To ensure that this plan is driven by the needs and concerns of Biddeford residents, the Climate Task Force is asking people who live, work, and play in Biddeford to take a five-minute survey to identify their biggest concerns and preferred solutions.
The survey can be accessed online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/BiddClimate and paper copies are available at Biddeford City Hall, McArthur Public Library, and Heart of Biddeford. The survey will be open through Friday, May 19.
The survey is just the first of a number of upcoming events, meetings, and public opportunities to learn more about climate change and talk with fellow community members about how the community will adapt. We hope that you will take part.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
