An Albion woman died after she was severely burned during attempts to start a campfire Friday night.

Liza Bragg, 46, was among a group of people gathered at D&R Campground in China when around 10:15 p.m. Bragg was standing next to someone attempting to start the fire, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety.

Bragg was taken to a local hospital and then to Maine Medical Center where she died Saturday.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the incident.
