Can someone answer the following questions?
When does an unborn human being gain human rights? Is it at conception? Is it when the heart starts beating? Is it when the baby can feel pain? Is it never? Here is another question: Is it a human right to intentionally take another life? If so, when? Finally, what are my human rights, and related to that, my human responsibilities?
These questions should be asked and discussed repeatedly any time we debate the taking of life, for any reason. Perhaps then we will find the paths that are life affirming and that both protect human rights and encourage human responsibility.
