GRAY — Aidan Heath hit a two-run single as Freeport defeated Gray-New Gloucester 5-3 in baseball action Thursday.
Zane Aguiar pitched six innings for Freeport (4-3), allowing three hits and striking out nine. Liam Emmons earned the save. Will Maneikis got two hits of Freeport’s six hits.
Max Kenney and Jake Maschino each had two hits for GNG (1-5). Losing pitcher Braeden Chute struck out seven.
SOFTBALL
FREEPORT 8, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4: Vanessa St. Pierre and Sadie Todd each recorded a two-run double to help the Falcons (2-5) top the Patriots (1-5) in Gray.
Norah Albertini and Celia Cobb both hit two singles for Freeport. Devon Russell pitched five innings to earn the win.
Maisie Lerette and Heather Nevells each had two hits for Gray-New Gloucester, and Cadence Norris belted a double.
