LEWISTON— A Lewiston Middle School eighth grader was treated for injuries after being struck by a box truck Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to the incident at the Russell Street and Central Avenue intersection around 2:12 p.m.
The student was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with unknown injuries.
The truck’s driver, Wade Gould, 41, of Lisbon Falls, was cited for a traffic violation, Lewiston police spokesman Lt. Derrick St. Laurent said.
The driver appears to be at fault, St. Laurent said.
