Prince Memorial Library will host a presentation on the Casco Bay Archaeological Project at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at West Cumberland Recreation Hall, 115 Blackstrap Road.
Project director Thomas Bennett will discuss how shell middens can highlight effects of climate change and report on the project’s activities last year, including excavations at sites on Littlejohn and Little Chebeague islands, and project plans for this year. Bennett also worked on archaeological digs elsewhere in Maine and in Massachusetts and Arizona.
The Cumberland library has been awarded grant funding for the shell middens project.
