David Faulkner

HIRAM – David Faulkner, of Hiram, fired up his Pontiac and headed for the big house on Thursday, April 20, 2023, after a short illness.

David was a welder/fabricator by trade and a hot rodder at heart. He spent a great deal of his life dedicated to working on and building custom cars, hot rods, and dragsters. A few of his custom built ’23 T Buckets can still be seen roaming the streets of Southern Maine.

David was always looking forward to his next project. He did a great job helping people visualize what his creation would look like, he knew what was cool and what wasn’t.

Being a fabricator and having a passion for cars, David was naturally drawn to drag racing. It was “ol skool” drag racing to be exact with heads up, flag starts. Trips to Winterport Dragway for the Gassah Guys camp-out weekends were always circled on David’s calendar. He was a friend to many and hot rods were a way to bring them all together. The connections he helped make are everlasting and everyone that knew him can be grateful for that.

David loved to be in the company of friends and family, and was never one to shy away from a good time. His younger years were filled with wild times and fast cars, and he had just as much fun telling the stories and reliving those days. Shooting the breeze was easy with him and there was never a shortage of things to talk about. He was a lover of good friends, good times, his family, border collies, and anything fast and loud. He will be greatly missed.

David was predeceased by his father, Howard; and beloved son Bobby.

David leaves behind his mother, Kay; twin brother, Andrew, brothers Mark, Matthew, Stephen and sister, Natalie; David’s son Jake, daughter, Stephanie; grandchildren Matthew, Alessio, Aiden and Ava; many nieces, nephews; countless close friends; and his beloved dog, Bub.
