Stephen Robert Schmidt

KENNEBUNKPORT – Stephen Robert Schmidt, 67, of Turbats Creek, passed away on April 24, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

Steve was born Feb. 11, 1956, and lived in the Kennebunkport area his entire life, graduating from Kennebunk High School in 1974. Following high school, Steve worked on a commercial fishing vessel before transitioning into carpentry work. An avid skier and skilled fisherman, Steve also enjoyed live music, and cheering on his kids at sporting events.

Steve’s family includes his wife Liz; sons Ben, Myles, and Ian Schmidt and wife Laura; daughter, Rachael Swan and husband Joseph, and beloved grandchildren Noah and Waylon Swan, and step-grandchildren Gaige and Rylee Swan; his brothers David and wife Lynn, Bruce and wife Jill, Mark and wife Charlene; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday May 2, from 3 to 6 p.m., at Bibber Memorial Chapel 67 Summer St., Kennebunk.
