Susan Lee (Lumbra) Saker
NORTH YARMOUTH – Susan Lee (Lumbra) Saker passed away at home, where she had resided for the last 26 years, on March 31, 2023. Susan was 63.
Born on May 22, 1959 to Janet Stebbins Lumbra and Reuben Walter Lumbra, Susan graduated from Milo High School and went on to pursue a nursing degree at the University of Maine in Orono where she met her husband, Mohammad Ahmed Saker.
After graduating, Susan lovingly served as a nurse at Maine Medical Center for nearly 38 years. Her passion was caring for her patients.
Susan’s hobbies included quilting blankets for family and friends, flower gardening, decorating, playing the piano, taking walks in Maine’s beautiful parks and beaches, visiting Monhegan Island, and cuddling on the couch with her beloved cats. She was always thinking of others first.
She was preceded in death by her parents Reuben Walter Lumbra and Janet Stebbins Lumbra.
She leaves behind her husband, Mohammad Ahmed Saker; and twins Ameerah Yasmeen Saker and Zachariah Ahmed Saker. She is also survived by her aunt, Gerry Rublee; and siblings Carrie Lumbra, Lynn Ricker, Jaye Reid, Helen Bucci, Ruth Welch, Steven Lumbra and Reuben (Benny) Lumbra.
Her funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yarmouth on Friday, April 14 at 10 a.m. The burial will be the following day, Saturday, April 15 at the Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth, time still to be determined.
