Marion “Rea” Moody

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Marion “Rea” Moody, 88, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2023, surrounded by loving family.

She was born on Feb. 13, 1935, near Baton Rouge, La., to parents Mary Rowell and John Bryant.

Rea enjoyed a successful career as an executive administrative assistant. She was also a loving homemaker and talented artist, expressing herself in painting, photography, sewing, knitting, weaving, singing and gardening. Her greatest joys were family and friends.

Rea was predeceased by her beloved husband, Winship “Chip” Moody Sr. in 2019. During retirement, the couple lived at Ocean View in Falmouth spending winters in Fort Myers, Fla. Rea lived her last three years at Friendship Village in Schaumburg, Ill.

She is survived by her devoted daughters Anne Beall (Michael Tuck), Katherine Beall-Ellinghausen (Tom Ellinghausen); stepchildren Kimberly Moody (J. Gordon Scannell), Thad Moody (Roxanne), Shawn Moody (Chrissi), Chip Moody Jr. (Suzanne); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
