Linda Ann Hoitt
SACO – Linda Ann Hoitt, 74, of Boom Road passed away on Tuesday April 4, 2023, peacefully, at her residence while surrounded by family. She was born in Westbrook on Nov. 11, 1948, the daughter of Linwood and Helen Murphy Doughty.
She attended Westbrook schools and graduated from Scarborough High School.
Linda had a “live life to the fullest” attitude. She was adventurous, a nature enthusiast who enjoyed being in the woods, driving back roads, and exploring the Saco River. Most of her life’s adventures occurred between Westbrook, Jackman, Standish and Saco. She enjoyed horses, gardening, flea markets and yard sales, collecting costumes and square dancing back in the day.
Linda retired from 3D’s Variety Store, of Biddeford while continuing her entrepreneurship with Castaways Costumes Shop of Saco. She also worked as the Activities Director for the Trull Nursing Home, the Truslow Center and the Kimball Health Senior Day Care. Linda and her husband Mike, volunteered for the Red Cross Disaster Action Team and participated with the Saco Police Academy.
She was predeceased by her parents Linwood and Wanda Doughty Merrill; a brother, Arthur Doughty, and a sister, Joanna Alexander.
Linda is survived by her husband, R. Michael Hoitt of Saco; two sons, William “Bill” Koebler of Hollis and Michael Anothony Hoitt of New Mexico and his wife Tracy, two daughters, Kristin Nason of Saco and husband Scott and Rebecca Federico of Biddeford and husband Chad; a brother, Tom Doughty of Jackman and wife Sandy, a sister, Jane Freeman of Hollis Center, a sister-in-law, Irene Doughty of Standish/Westbrook; six grandchildren, Alexis, Jacob, Thomas, Alonzo, Lorenzo and Sophia; and one great-grandchild, Bralen.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., in Saco.
