Local author Jule Selbo is visiting the South Portland Public Library on March 30 at 6 p.m to discuss her new book, “9 Days.” The novel is the second book in the Dee Rommel mystery series set locally in Portland. It is the sequel to “10 Days,” part of a 10-book series.

Selbo worked for decades in Los Angeles as a screenwriter. She has worked on films such as “Ariel’s Beginning,” “Cinderella II,” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame II.” Four years ago, she moved to Portland to shift to novels. She has published five so far. In addition to the Dee Rommel books, she has written the mystery romance “Find Me in Florence,” and the historical fiction novels “Dreams of Discovery, Life of Explorer John Cabot” and “Breaking Barriers, Laura Bassi’s Life.”

Selbo has also written academic books on screenwriting, several plays, and various articles. She also worked as a professor at California State University, Fullerton.

Anna Conathan, a South Portland writer and comedian, will join and moderate the conversation. Nonesuch Books will be present to sell copies of “9 Days.”
