The Maine Marine Patrol recovered the body of an unidentified male Wednesday night on the shore of the Medomak River in Waldoboro.
The Maine Marine Patrol said in a release that the man’s identity will be withheld until his family and relatives have been notified.
The Marine Patrol and the Waldoboro emergency responders were called to the scene of an apparent boating accident near Dutch Neck Road around 4 p.m. A witness told authorities they saw a 12-foot skiff with three individuals aboard sink in the river.
The man’s body was recovered about an hour later and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
It wasn’t clear Wednesday night what happened to the other individuals in the skiff.
