Joseph R. Robichaud

PORTLAND – We mourn the loss of a wonderful man, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, Joseph R. Robichaud, who passed away peacefully on March 23, 2023, at the age of 85 surrounded by his family. Born on Aug. 16, 1937 in Sanford, Joseph Robichaud was the son of Odelie Belanger and Edgar Robichaud. He proudly served his country as a Navy veteran, his dedication and service to his country was a source of great pride.

Following his service, Joseph Robichaud returned home to Sanford, where he met and married the love of his life, Donna Hill with whom he raised their five children. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, and he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially watching football and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Joseph Robichaud was also a loving grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather to a total of 36 grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to classic oldies music and singing to his wife and daughter.

Joseph Robichaud was an active member of the Eagles club and Italian Heritage where he bartended part time while working full time at the school department

He was predeceased by his wife Donna Hill and sons, Michael and Kevin

He is survived by Shelley and Kerry Simpson, Paul Jacobson and Xianmin, Donnie and Mary Robichaud

He will be dearly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as by his many friends.

His life was a testament to love, dedication, and service.

Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 5 -7 p.m., at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home in Portland.
