Arthur Dusseault

SOUTH PORTLAND –
Arthur Dusseault, 81, passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle of Melanoma on March 10, 2023 at Gosnell House in Scarborough with his wife Donna by his side.

Art was born in Portland on Feb. 16, 1942, son of the late Arthur and Katherine Dusseault. He graduated from South Portland High School in 1960. He enlisted in the Army, serving three years. He then attended USM graduating with an associate degree in business.

He worked with his father in the construction business for many years in homes in the area. When his father retired, Art got his broker’s license and sold real estate until he retired.

Art married Donna Reynolds in June, 1967. They bought a home in South Portland where they have lived for 55 years and raised two sons.

Art had a great sense of humor and loved family gatherings, woodworking, camping, swimming with his friend, Steve, target shooting with friends, traveling, especially loving cruises and trips to Florida.

Art was predeceased by his parents; and his infant son, Michael.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; sister, Mary Barter (Philip); sons Daniel (DeAnna) and Mark (Bethany); two grandsons, Christopher (Emily), Jason (Rylee Sawyer) his granddaughter, Jessica (Jonathan Scribner); nieces, nephews, cousins; and many dear friends.

Art’s family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at New England Cancer Specialists, Maine Medical Center, InterMed and Mercy Wound Center for their caring and support.

Services will be held at Hobbs Funeral Home Thursday, March 16 with visiting hours from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow and burial at Calvary Cemetery at 1 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at http://www.hobbsfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Refuge League of Westbrook or the Gosnell House in Scarborough.
