Portland-based Americana singer-songwriter Jacob McCurdy released the single “Feels Like Home” on March 3.

The song is an aural warm breeze fully bathed in sunshine that’s perfectly timed to take the edge off of winter. Well-placed horns and optimistic lyrics carry the song along an upbeat bath.

Originally, McCurdy was going to pitch the song to Lake Street Dive but decided to keep for himself, which was a solid decision, though when you hear the song you’ll understand why he had that band in mind.

You can hear McCurdy live Thursday at The Press Room in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The 21-plus show is at 8 p.m., and tickets are $10.
