Webinar part of special school week
Superintendent Heather Perry is raising awareness of national Public Schools Week, which continues through Friday.
“Our public schools accept all students, regardless of background. We take the whole student from where they are and bring them to where they need to be. We ‘Prepare and Inspire’ all students for their successful futures,” Perry said in a press release.
The week’s events include “Why Storytelling Matters,” a live webinar from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, with education and communications experts sharing their insights and tools to enhance storytelling skills for anyone. Triad on mental health
The Gorham/Windham/Westbrook Triad will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Gorham Police Department, 270 Main St.
The speaker will be Cheryl Drda, a Maine Health specialist and nurse practitioner in psychology, who will discuss seniors’ mental health.
50 years ago
The American Journal reported on March 7, 1973, that Katherine Hurd of South Street entertained Hazel Hoyt of Limerick. They had been classmates at Gorham Normal School.
