John Wayne Graffam
BUXTON – John Wayne Graffam, 71, of River Road passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born June 3, 1951, in Biddeford, the son of Charles and Edna Tufts Graffam Sr.
John attended local schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1969.
He served in the National Guard and worked for Saco Brick until the early 1980s.
John then was employed by Autoplacement Center, then for the Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator, from which he retired from. In retirement he worked for Toyota as a courtesy driver.
John enjoyed doing anything outdoors, Nascar, motorcycle rides, following his grandchildren’s sports and coffee with his friends.
John is predeceased by his brothers Malcolm, Carl, and Alton Graffam and Donald and Forest Nason.
Survivors in a son Brad Graffam and wife Tammy of Saco, a daughter Melanie Willey and husband Hank of Saco, his fiancé of 17 years Francine Provencal of Buxton and her children, Matthew and Kristine Provencal, both of Saco, two brothers Charles Graffam Jr. of Saco, William Graffam of Saco, a sister Charlene LeBlanc of Saco and three grandchildren, Neely, Brady and Declan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours are to be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., noon at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco.
A 12 p.m., noon, graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
