Ethel Wilson

TECUMSEH, Mich. – Ethel Mae Wilson, 90, of Clinton formerly of Cliff Island died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023 at Hampton Manor in Adrian. She was born on Cliff Island, a daughter of the late Myles Leo and Inez Almira (Dyer) O’Reilly. On Dec. 18, 1954 in Portland, she married James Bruce Wilson and they shared 66 years together until his passing on Jan. 13, 2021.

Ethel was retired from Clinton Community Schools as the cafeteria manager. She loved playing bingo, taking bus trips to the casino and was in a euchre club with a few close friends. She loved baking and making fudge to take to bingo. She loved her grandchildren very much and cherished their time together

Ethel is survived by a daughter, Debralee (Jonathan) Gilbey of Raisin Twp, two sons, James Charles (Nancy) Wilson of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Tim (Irena Studnicka) Wilson of Harrison Twp; brother-in-law, David Farrell of Natick, Mass.; six grandchildren, Jason (Kelsey) Gilbey, Bryan (Abbey Reeder) Gilbey, James Gilbey, Tori Wilson, Jacob (Stephanie Jones) Wilson and Joshua (Emily) Wilson.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Marie; siblings Charlie, Thelma, Ben, Christine, Harriet, Patricia, Mike, Ernest, Jack, Betty, Alice and Inez.

Visitation for Ethel will be on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Hawkins officiating. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Clinton, Mich.
