Raymond F. Gagnon, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Fe. 15, 2023, at the age of 92.

Born on June 5, 1930, he was the son of Wilfrid Gagnon and Louisia DuBois Gagnon. He was a proud graduate of St. Louis High School in Biddeford.

Raymond served his country as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. After completing his service, he returned home and became an avid fan of all Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox. He enjoyed following their games and cheering them on with his family and friends. Raymond worked for the Saco Tanning Company and Pratt and Whitney, always finding a way to make jobs a little bit easier. He received recognition for outstanding contributions wherever he worked. He also worked at Hope Memorial Chapel as a funeral attendant.

One of the things that Raymond cherished the most in life was spending time with his wife and family. He and his wife were dedicated supporters of their children Ron and Don, and their daughters and grandchildren, attending every school and athletic event they participated in throughout their grammar school, high school, and college years. Raymond also liked to try his luck at the lottery, enjoying an occasional scratch ticket or two.
In his retirement years, Raymond enjoyed walking and spending time with his wife, relishing every moment they had together. He was also a skilled cribbage player and enjoyed playing and beating his son and daughter-in-law Don and Norma, as well as their children, whenever he could. He was an avid sports fan. Raymond also loved to spend time at the dog track and Scarborough Downs with his son Ron. This was Raymond’s “Saturday Tradition!”

Raymond will always be remembered as a great and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew him. He was friend to many.

Raymond is survived by: his son, Ronald Gagnon and wife Rebecca; his son, Don Gagnon and wife Norma; granddaughter, Laura Warner and husband Daniel; granddaughter, Sarah Rose and husband Greggory Rose; granddaughter, Melissa Thiboult and husband Cody; and great-grandchildren, Maxwell Warner, Payton Ellen Rose, Molly Rae Thiboult and Josie Ellen Thiboult.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005 on Feb. 23, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023 at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
