Patricia “Pat” (Grant) Anderson
BUXTON – Patricia “Pat” (Grant) Anderson passed away peacefully on Feb. 8, 2023. She resided in Buxton. For the last month she was a resident at Coastal Manor in Yarmouth.
She was born on June 18, 1929, in South Portland, the daughter of the late George and Josephine (Quimby) Grant. She grew up in Windham on Highland Cliff Road as the youngest of the four “Grant Girls.” Pat graduated from Windham High School, class of 1947.
After graduation she worked for Western Union in Portland, Chicago, Ill., and Caribou. While working in Caribou, she met Donald Anderson, and they were married on May 12, 1951. They celebrated 50 years together. Pat and Don were loyal members of the Moose Lodge. Don served as president and Pat served as Senior Regent for the Women of the Moose.
Pat and Don and their children enjoyed camping in their pop-up camper. They camped at many campgrounds in the State of Maine. They made special trips every summer to Camp Perry, Ohio. They traveled to Hawaii for a conference in the 1980s. After retirement, Pat and Don bought a motorhome and traveled to all 49 states which included their trip to Alaska. Pat was very proud to say that she had been to all 50 states. They finally settled at the Family Campground at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla. in the winters and they summered at Wassamki Springs Campground in Scarborough, where family and friends enjoyed birthdays, holidays and beautiful summer weekends, barbecuing, swimming, and baseball games.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband; and her sisters Mary Swendsen, Mildred Maynard and Barbara Millet, and her brother George “Sonny” Grant.
She is survived by her children, Donna Nugent and her husband Gary Connolly of Buxton, Allan Anderson and his wife Linda of Middleton, N.H., Jean Charron of Windham and Eric Anderson and his wife Lisa of Windham; her seven grandchildren, Bethany Walker and her husband Scott of Buxton, Jim Nugent of Buxton, Anthony Charron of Windham, Nathan Charron of Windham, Aaron Anderson of Concord, N.C., Avery Anderson of Rochester, N.H. and Austin Anderson of Plymouth, N.H.; her eight great-grandchildren, Alyshia, Brooke, Seamus, Aislinn, Eliza, Levi, Connor and Wyatt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ryker and Lylah.
The family thanks the Staff at Coastal Manor in Yarmouth, and Beacon Hospice for the loving care that Pat received there.
A celebration of life will be held on March 4, from 9-11 a.m. at Dolby Blais Segee Funeral Home, 434 River Rd., Windham. A graveside burial will be held in June of 2023 at the Chase Cemetery, 96 Highland Cliff Rd., Windham.
