Norman A. Harmon
WINDHAM – Norman A. Harmon, of Windham, passed away on Sunday Feb. 12, 2023 at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick after a brief illness. He was born in Standish on Dec. 5, 1932. Norman was one of 11 children of Ray and Florence (Manchester) Harmon.
Norman attended Standish Schools growing up. In 1956, he married the love of his life, Eleanor Harmon. He enjoyed, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with family. Norman served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a 15-year member of the Windham Firefighters, and a Mason in the Windham Masonic Lodge. Norman worked at the Maine State Fish Hatchery in Gray for many years until his retirement.
He leaves behind son, Dennis Harmon and wife Paulita of Sangerville, daughter, Rebecca Murray and husband Vincent of Hope; as well as six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Harmon; by his daughter Cynthia Harmon; and his 10 brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held for Norman on Feb. 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Rd., Windham, ME 04062. A Graveside service will be held at Arlington Cemetery Windham in the spring.
