Claudia Jean Googins
PORTLAND – Claudia Jean Googins, 81, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Monday Feb. 13, 2023 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Born Aug. 2, 1941 to Mildred and Alfred Fuller Sr., Claudia graduated from South Portland High School class of 1959.
She went into the food industry working for Pizza by Angelone. Over the years, Claudia shared fond memories working with the Angelone family. Claudia spent the latter part of her career with a mutual fund management firm, Forum Financial Group, where she worked until her retirement.
Claudia was an avid reader and had a passion for watercolor painting, using Portland Head Light as her subject.
Claudia loved to travel, having made multiple trips to visit family in Massachusetts, Arizona and Colorado, as well as vacationing in Florida. One of her cherished memories was traveling overseas to Ireland to walk her youngest daughter down the aisle at her wedding. Claudia enjoyed frequent lunches with her “59” ladies, get togethers at the bingo hall and weekly scrabble games with her best friends of 60 years.
She was predeceased by her parents; son, William Googins; brothers Alfred Jr. and Fred Fuller, and sister, Shirley DiBiase.
She is survived by her daughters Jeannine Reuillard and husband Greg of Biddeford, and Dianne Dawdy and husband Geoff of Saco. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsay, Hannah, Kyle and Keiara; and six great-grandchildren, Harper, Abigale, William, Jayden, Michael and Noah; sister Patricia York and brother, Robert Fuller, both of Portland.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor Thursday, March 2, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 184 St. John St., Portland.
