New garden club
The Gray Trail Network encourages residents to join an effort to start a new garden club. The club is for anyone interested in topics such as pollinators, community gardens, spring/fall cleanup projects, native Maine plants, composting permaculture and more. Skates and s’mores
Skate, showshoe and eat s’mores at the ice rink in Pennell Park behind Newbegin Gym at 20 Main St., Saturday, Feb. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. Free skate rentals are offered, as well as a Nordic walking demo. In case of poor weather, Feb. 25 is the backup date. For more information, contact the Gray-New Gloucester Rec. Department at 657-2323.
Community supper
Join community members for a supper at 5 p.m. Feb. 25 at the First Congregational Church Parish House, 5 Brown St. The meal includes a variety of casseroles, salads, baked pea beans, red hot dogs and breads, as well as an assortment of desserts. Meals are $10 each and paid at the door.
Chad and spaghetti
Local comedian and member of American Legion Post 86 Chad the Hypnotist will entertain at a Feb. 25 spaghetti dinner at the post at 5 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the canteen. Some tickets may be available at the door. Call 657-4884 to learn more. The post is located at 15 Lewiston Road.
Modified office hours and seeking hires
The town clerk’s office is temporarily on a modified schedule to accommodate staff shortages and work timelines.
Until further notice, the office is open Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-4 p.m.; Thursday at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3-6:30 p.m.; Friday at 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Staff shortages include town clerk, deputy town clerk, library head of youth services and more. To learn more, visit graymaine.org.
