Sugarhouses across the state will open their doors and welcome visitors March 25-26 for the 40th Maine Maple Sunday Weekend.
The event, sponsored by the Maine Maple Producers Association, will include maple-tasting, rides, games, sugarbush tours, music, sweet treats and more.
“Maple Sunday is our favorite weekend of the year,” said Lyle Merrifield, president of the MMPA. “This year, more than 100 members of the association are participating from Aroostook to York County. Community members love to come out of hibernation and celebrate the first signs of spring while enjoying all things maple.”
The MMPA represents more than 200 of the 520 producers licensed to sell maple products in Maine. A full list of those participating in Maine Maple Sunday Weekend can be found at mainemapleproducers.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
