I was struck by, I assume, the final comments from Bruce Poliquin and Paul LePage over the past few days, as recorded in the Press Herald (Nov. 14 and Nov. 10, respectively).

It seems their very comments contain the keys to their loss. Poliquin urged Democrats “to show compassion by starting to fix the mess they created.” As for LePage, he said the election loss came down to Maine voters caring more “about abortion than their wallets.”

Not a positive comment between them. Honestly, it seems they were taking swipes at the voters, while still living in the past and giving little respect to what has been completed: democracy in action.
