WATERBORO — Shirley Hawkins, 73, of Waterboro passed away peacefully on Nov. 8, 2022, after a yearlong battle with cancer.
She was born in Biddeford, Maine, and was a graduate of Thornton Academy in 1967. She also attended the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Shirley was a lover of unique antiques which was her hobby and passion.
You would often find her cultivating her yard sale and looking for unique interesting pieces which earned her the nickname of the “yard sale lady.”
She was the loving mother to three children: the late Edward Hawkins Jr., Dan Hawkins of Lebanon and his wife Becky Hawkins, and Karen (Hawkins) Speel of Burlington, Massachusetts; her grandchildren, Nicholas Hawkins, Kyle Hawkins, Duncan Speel, Heidi Hawkins, Charlie Hawkins, Mia Hawkins, and the late Tori Hawkins and Edward Hawkins III; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Hawkins, and Caiden Hawkins. She is also survived by her great aunt, Margaret Lefebvre and brother Clarence Stewart.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, from 10 a.m. until noon at Bibber Memorial at Autumn Green, 47 Oak St., in Alfred.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, West Road in Biddeford.
