Tea, gala to kick off Festival of Trees
The 18th Annual Festival of Trees Preview Afternoon Tea and Evening Gala at the Saco Museum will take place at two different times this Saturday.
The afternoon tea will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and the evening gala will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Both events will feature a special exclusive silent auction.

Bird migration program with Scott Weidensaul
York County Audubon will host a program on bird migration with famed birder and author Scott Weidensaul at 7 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.
Weidensaul will take us around the globe to learn how people are working to understand and save the world’s great bird migrations.
He is the author of nearly 30 books on natural history, including his latest, the New York Times bestseller “A World on the Wing.”
This program is free but advance registration is required by going to yorkcountyaudubon.org and clicking on the link to receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Acclaimed pianist Lafayette Gilchrist will perform at 8 p.m. at the Portland Conservatory of Music, 28 Neal St.
Gilchrist draws on the span of jazz history, from stride to free improvisation, along with inspiration from hip-hop, funk, and Washington D.C.’s unique go-go sound. The solo concert is presented by Dimensions in Jazz.

The Franco Center will host a performance by Runnin’ Down a Dream: The Tom Petty Tribute Band at 7 p.m. Saturday, 46 Cedar St.
This Maine-based band includes members Mike Boucher on lead vocals and guitar; Harry Coddington on lead guitar; Roger Howard on drums; Marty Mclellan on guitar and vocals; and Steve Brown on keyboard and vocals.
Doors and cash bar open an hour before showtime.
