Mary Gwyneth “Gwyn” Palmer 1942 – 2022 BRUNSWICK – Mary Gwyneth “Gwyn” Palmer passed away Nov. 1, 2022. She was born on Jan. 3, 1942 in Duluth, Minn. Her parents were the Reverend Canon George Palmer and Helena (Meissner) Palmer. Gwyn grew up in Ogdensburg, NY and at Bisby Lake in the Adirondacks. Friends remember sitting by the campfire beside the lake and hearing Gwyn’s beautiful alto voice leading them from song to song. She was always the social director from planning Wiki-up parties at the lake to befriending many in Ogdensburg. Gwyn graduated from Skidmore College in 1963. She went on to work at J. Walter Thompson, an advertising agency in NYC, where she advanced to Senior Vice President. After moving to Brunswick, Maine, Gwyn became involved with the Oratorio Chorale and the American Cancer Society. Her computer and planning skills were an invaluable asset to these organizations. Gwyn enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, researching on Ancestry.com, social events and activities with her friends and family, and being with her beloved cats. Gwyn was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Jeannette, her brother, Tom, and her nephew, Michael Palmer. She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Elizabeth Martel, Sarah St. John, and Andrew Palmer; a sister-in- law, Lesley Palmer; a cousin, Elizabeth Mortimer of England; many friends and family; and her cat, Puck. A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2023.
