Remembering Frank Young

The Maine School Administrative District 6 Board of Directors held a moment of silence at its meeting Nov. 7 for former school custodian Francis Young who died Oct. 3 at age 93.
“He was known by teachers and co-workers affectionately as Frank. He was employed by the district from April of 1981 until he retired in April of 1992,” according to the district’s meeting agenda.
His obituary said Young was previously a self-employed dairy farmer in Buxton.
50 years ago
The American Journal reported on Nov. 8, 1972, that Maynard Brown of West Buxton was honored with a party for his 70th birthday. He was formerly of Westbrook and retired from the Weyerhaeuser plant in Westbrook.
