Incumbent Noreen Poitras won her fourth term on the Westbrook School Committee on Tuesday, receiving 58% of the votes cast in the Ward 3 race with challenger Flynn Ross.
The vote was 721-532.
Poitras sought re-election with a focus on state funding of schools, pointing to the need for districts to be able to more accurately predict the amount of funding they will receive yearly.
A Democrat with a business background, Poitras works as an inventory specialist for a supply firm. She could not be reached for comment Wednesday before the American Journal deadline.
With no candidates on the ballot for the School Committee’s at-large member, Jeremy McGowan won with 88 write-in votes. Andrea Mancusco ran unopposed for the Ward 4 committee seat.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
