The Westbrook High School Marching Band and Color Guard won the gold medal in the 2022 state finals of the Maine Band Directors Association competition last weekend. Free kids’ movie

Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., is hosting a free children’s movie at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, to celebrate Native American
Heritage month. The movie is about a horse that discovers freedom with the help of a Lakota friend. It will be shown in the Youth Services Programing Room. For more information, call the library at 854-0630.

50 years ago

The American Journal reported on Nov. 1, 1972, that Mr. and Mrs. Almon Wheeler of Bridgton Road celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary. They were married Oct. 21, 1912, in Waterboro.
