Dianna Lynn Lear, 55, a resident of South Portland, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough surrounded by her loving family following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Dianna, Dee to all who knew and loved her, was born April 8, 1967, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of Dale Everett and Kathleen Radl Lear. She is a 1989 graduate of University of Maine-Orono with a BA in business and advertising. Following her internship with Business Daily, she joined UNUM, where she has worked for over 30 years. Her current position was an administrative assistant in the Portland office.
A devoted animal lover, she volunteered with the Animal Welfare Society in West Kennebunk for many years. Dee also loved to tend her vegetable garden, always sharing her crops to friends and family, and in the summer making jams for family and friends.
Dee is predeceased by her beloved Lucy, who was her canine companion on many adventures.
Survivors include her parents, Dale and Kathy Lear, a sister Pam Lear, niece Emma Grace Lear, nephew Aiden Lear, and a wide circle of extended family and friends scattered throughout the country.
Visiting hours will be held 5 to7 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 9, 2022, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk.
