Recognition

Margo Walsh, founder and CEO of MaineWorks, has received Northern Light Mercy Hospital’s 2022 Forsley Award, which recognizes remarkable leaders and advocates who work to better the community with a focus on neighbors in need. Through her staffing company, Walsh has worked to support recovery and transition in the workforce. The annual award is named in honor Forsely, a longtime champion of Gary’s House, a Mercy Hospital program that provides a home away from home for families with loved ones receiving care at health care facilities in Portland.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
