Marjorie Elizabeth (Randall) McCrae

HUDSON, Ohio – Marjorie Elizabeth (Randall) McCrae, 94, of Hudson, Ohio, formerly Falmouth Foreside, passed away on July 24, 2022.

Marjorie was born to Annie and Horace Randall in Pawtucket, R.I. on May 9, 1928. She grew up in Pawtucket, R.I. and graduated from Rhode Island College in 1950 with a degree in teaching.

After marriage to her high school sweetheart, Duncan McCrae, a civil engineer who served in Korea and with the Army Corps of Engineers, she lived in many areas throughout the country. However, she adopted Maine as her home after relocating in 1968.

Marjorie taught kindergarten in a two-room schoolhouse in Cumberland for many years, and in the summers enjoyed weekend afternoon sails with Duncan on Casco Bay. Her greatest love was her family, whose needs she always put first, and she and Duncan moved to Hudson, Ohio in 2003 to be closer to her son and grandchildren.

She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, hearty laugh, delicious Maine blueberry pie, late nights watching Duke basketball and NBA playoff games, ill-chosen Christmas gifts that were a great source of entertainment around the Christmas tree, and her beloved Maine Coon Cat, Zazoo.

She was predeceased by her husband, Duncan, with whom she shared 54 years; and her daughter-in-law, JoAnn.

She is survived by her son, Keith Randall McCrae (Katie Emerson); grandchildren Brett Alexander McCrae (Kate) and Kristen Ann McMullan-McCrae (Barrett), step-grandchildren Benjamin Porter Davis and Anna Logan Davis; and great-granddaughter, Belle Alexandra McCrae.

A memorial service for relatives and close friends will be held at Garfield Memorial Church, Pepper Pike, Ohio, on Nov. 22 at 4 pm. Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, Hudson, Ohio, http://www.johnsonromito.com
