As a resident of Portland’s 3rd District, I was glad we finally had a chance to hear from our City Council candidates at the recent Maine League of Women Voters Candidate Forum. Before the forum I wasn’t sure who I planned to vote for, but the forum had a clear standout who made my decision much easier: Nathaniel Ferguson.
It was quite refreshing to hear Nathaniel focus his responses on the important details that many don’t want to get into. I was impressed by his thoughtful and reasonable answers during the forum, in particular his plans on the issues of housing, transit, local climate action and the responsibilities of the school board.
He’s a candidate with many concrete plans who has a solid understanding of the city ordinances. I recommend others interested in the District 3 election watch the forum on YouTube and consider Nathaniel Ferguson for City Council.
