Thornton Academy senior Logan New is heading to Maryland next month to participate in the National Association for Music Education National Choir, an educational experience that also provides a showcase for the nation’s top high school performers.
New was chosen to participate in the National Choir, which includes workshops with renowned clinicians, several rehearsals, and an ensemble concert performance.
“Logan is an incredibly talented singer, actor, and dancer and a great role model for others in the TA Arts Department,” said Catherine Murray, director of Vocal Music at Thornton Academy. “Logan is so deserving of this honor. They have worked above and beyond most to achieve the highest of honors.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
