Valadon May (Sutherland) Venuto 1952 – 2022 BATH – Valadon May (Sutherland) Venuto, 70, passed away after a short illness on July 16, 2022 at Maine Medical Center with family by her side. Valadon was born in Bath on April 9, 1952, a daughter of the late Fred Sutherland, Isabelle May Fifield Ryder and stepfather Eugene Ryder. Valadon was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to everyone that she met. Her laughter and her sense of humor was one of a kind. Her smile made strangers into friends and she always had a big hug and an “I love you”. Val had been an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #21 for many years and participated in many events. During her years with the Auxiliary, Val was a supporting member working on community projects, attending conventions and being a friend to all who knew her through the post home. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. Venuto; and a sister, Roxanne Constantino. Valadon is survived by her children, Christopher Coombs, Rikilyn Moser, Rhonda Halpin and her husband, Timothy; siblings Eugene Ryder Jr. and wife, Jane, Candalene Sutherland, Lynn Hudson and husband, David, Brian Ryder and wife, Mandee Adams; and her life long friend of 70 years, Cindy Hughes and husband, Jim; four grandchildren, Robert Coombs, Brandon Murray, Ericka Murray and Victoria Moser; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and all her beloved animals. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her and we invite you to a celebration of her life. Please join us on Saturday Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at the West Bath Grange, New Meadows Rd., West Bath. Her love of animals sometimes exceeded her love for humans, so in her honor, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ASPCA
