Nancy (Flynn) Pogar

SCARBOROUGH – Nancy (Flynn) Pogar, 68, of Scarborough, died on Oct. 24, 2022 at Maine Medical Center surrounded by family.

Nancy was born on Feb. 5, 1954 in Flushing, N.Y. The oldest of six children, Nancy was the daughter of Bernard and Janet (Predmore) Flynn. Nancy spent her early years in Floral Park, N.Y. and moved to Cape Elizabeth in 1969. She later moved to Scarborough with her husband William Pogar.

Nancy was a kind, gentle, and loving soul. She lived a life committed to the Catholic faith and caring for others. Nancy worked as a registered nurse for over two decades. Upon retirement, she worked as a caregiver for the elderly.

Nancy is survived by her husband, William; her two sons, Andrew Pogar and girlfriend, Demie Johnson of Orlando, Fla., and Thomas Pogar and wife, Allison of Georgetown, Mass.; siblings Brian, Beth, Kathleen, and Mark; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and younger sister, Susan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland, on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. in St. Maximillian Kolbe, 150 Black Point Rd., in Scarborough.
