Lloyd A. Mayberry

ALBANY TOWNSHIP – Lloyd A. Mayberry (aka Monk E. Mahoney or Monkee) 71, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born Nov. 24, 1950 in Portland, a son of the late Wilbur and Mary (Viola) Mayberry.

Lloyd took great pride working in the fishing, boating and construction industries but his favorite since 1996 was at the Competition and Events department at Sunday River making a difference in the racers lives. As his friend said, he was made of a “cloth that no longer exists”. Lloyd was a loyal and committed friend to all.

He is survived by his life partner, Laurie Reynolds; his son, Seth of Gray and his daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Pat Myatt of Abbot; Laurie’s children Lindsey (Ian) Mittler, Joseph (Diana) Reynolds and grandson Leo Reynolds; the mother of his children, Meredith Mayberry; his siblings Patricia (Kerry) Robillard, Grace (Ed) Fuller, Warren (Jacqueline) Mayberry, Mary (Joel) Porter, Angela (Bruce) Yates and Mark Mayberry; many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Kelli Sprague and all the doctors at Maine Health Cancer Care for their exceptional care of Lloyd. Also, all the nurses on the seventh floor at Maine Med for their care and compassion.

In keeping with Lloyd’s wishes there will be no services. At a later date his ashes will be scattered at the top of T2 and Casco Bay, his two favorite places.
