Edith M. Mains

Edith M. Mains 1936 – 2022 BRUNSWICK – Edith M. Mains, 86, died at her home Sunday Oct. 23, 2022. She was born Feb. 18, 1936, the daughter of Franklin and Maude Harris Leavitt. She married John Mains in Brunswick on April 25, 1972. The couple had just celebrated their 50th year anniversary. She loved children and babysat her entire life, beginning at a very early age. She was many people’s caretaker throughout their childhood, and became a “second” Grammy to many. She enjoyed watching TV and crocheting. While raising her own family, her cooking made Sunday dinner at her home a preferred destination to many neighborhood children. She is survived by her husband, John Mains of Brunswick; her son, Perry Leavitt of Brunswick; two special loves who called her “Grammy”, Matthew Demers and Therese Mosley.
